A Tribute to My Dad – T. Ravindrapandian

As Content Lashmi begins a new chapter, I start with my dad (Ravindrapandian) – someone I miss every day and will always carry with me.

As I begin this new chapter of Content Lashmi, I wanted my first post to be about someone who has influenced my journey the most – My dad, T. Ravindrapandian.

No story is ever truly complete without acknowledging the people who shaped it. And as I continue sharing my thoughts and experiences here, it felt incomplete without dedicating a space to him.

This is simply my tribute to my dad, his life, his principles, and the values he stood for.

My dad played many roles in this lifetime…

A loving husband.
An adorable father.
An honest gentleman.
An innovative chemical engineer.
A proven industrialist.
A passionate entrepreneur.
A favourite MBA professor.
A patriotic Indian.
An avid writer and lyricist.

He was also a devoted worker of Bhagwan Sri Yogi RamsuratKumar in Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu.

An ardent devotee of Papa, Mataji and Swamiji of Anandashram, Kanhangad, Kerala.

And a strong believer in Sri Aurobindo and The Mother in Pondicherry.

And so many more roles

My Childhood Was Connected to These Places

From the time I was born until I completed my 10th standard, most of our school vacations were spent in one of these places.

Tiruvannamalai in Tamil Nadu

Kanhangad in Kerala.

Pondicherry.

These were not just places we visited during holidays.

They became part of my childhood.

I loved spending time at Anandashram in Kanhangad. I still remember telling Ram Nam, doing Aarti and spending 4 to 8 days there.

There was something very different about those days.

Looking back now, I realise how much of my spiritual side was quietly shaped through those experiences.

I Always Say I Have Two Mothers

I have always said I have two mothers.

One mother, who protects me physically.

And another, Sri Aurobindo’s Mother, protects me emotionally and mentally.

That is how I have always felt.

Maybe this connection became such an important part of my life because my dad introduced me to these places, these beliefs and this spiritual environment from such a young age.

For me, it is not just about visiting an ashram or spending a vacation somewhere.

It became a part of who I am.

One Thing About the Tribute – Ravindrapandian

There is one thing I cannot leave out.

The Times of India tribute about my dad (Ravindrapandian) had his date of passing mentioned as 29 July 2014.

But the actual date was 29 June 2014.

TOI AD Date change after an year. The date has been incorrectly updated in The Times of India after a year of remembrance. The correct date is 29.6.2014, not 29.7.2014.

A date may look like a small detail to someone reading it.

But for a family, it isn’t.

It is the date.

It is the day.

It is a part of our truth.

Maybe someone can change a date in an article. Maybe incidents can be written differently or remembered differently over time.

But that doesn’t change what actually happened.

Starting Content Lashmi With Him

Content Lashmi is entering a new chapter now.

Going forward, I want this space to be about experiences, people, moments, lessons and reflections that have shaped me.

And it felt right that the first post of this new chapter should begin with him.

Someone I miss every single day.
Someone whose presence I still carry with me.
Someone whose values and influence continue to be a part of my journey.
